I work with Hot Commodities as their freelance photographer, videographer, and creative director — helping translate a curated vintage inventory into imagery that reads as clearly on Instagram as it does in the room.
Hot Commodities is about pieces with personality: mid-century lines, honest wood grain, and the occasional bold textile. My job is to keep the frame uncluttered, the light honest, and the styling consistent so the brand feels like a single voice — not a random resale feed.
How we shoot
We treat every session like a small editorial story. Wide shots establish the silhouette; closer frames reward someone who is already in love with joinery and fabric. When we add a blanket or prop, it is there to show scale and warmth — not to hide the piece.
Video and stills share the same rules: steady camera, natural color, and pacing that lets the object speak. As creative director, I align set, wardrobe of the space, and shot list with what the brand needs this month — launch, drop, or evergreen catalog.
